February - week 1 pics

We're trying out our canvases in different areas of the house to see where they look best.

Here's the one of the babies... (I am SO glad I got this crawling one -love this stage)

and here's the one of us. This is our bedroom wall - the colour's called parsley or something similar :)

then my friend gave me this lovely red pencil with

"Keep calm and carry on" printed on it - I love it!

Connor's new thing - he flings himself down anywhere when he wants to sleep. Why doesn't he just tell us?!

A very successful lunch at Mugg and Bean - the babies had funny face breakfasts (yes, for lunch). As you can see, Connor LOVED it.

Kendra also did - the face is because she wants water at that precise moment and Dion wants to feed her food

And then... finally, the babies' plastics are contained and pretty!

This is my weekly winners post :)

Weekly winners and that's January done!

Looks like I'm turning over a new leaf. Look at me - 1 Feb and up to date with Jan pics :)

My colleague, Ros, always does the MOST beautiful food for her birthday. She did a huge spread and this is just one platter full of yummy fruit. Here is last year's pic of yet another pretty platter.

Later that same day, taken through my office window

Connor loves cars. When I arrived home, he was out of that door so fast and this is him exclaiming, "car!"

And then later, Kendra saw where I hid her dummy (pacifier). Look at that excitement, poor thing.

I was on a course in another building at work and just as I was about to jump in my car and race out of there, I happened to glance through the pillars and saw this...

I noticed graffiti artists a few weeks ago on Louis Botha Avenue (you need nerves of steel to drive here - crazy taxi drivers) and finally got a couple of shots. I just stuck out my arm, mostly held the shutter down and hoped for the best.

Walked to the gym to try out yoga. Hated it but on the way back to the office, well, look at this - put me right back in a cheerful mood.

Ps 19:1 All of creation shouts out God's glory

They are obsessed with my camera case.

Connor concentrating...

Kendra (look at baby hands)

then I get the evil eye because her brother took it from her.

It's survival of the fittest around here :)

This one was taken at church, in a rare moment of stillness

My favourite drink, ready and waiting for me in a meeting room first thing on Monday morning.

I'm linking these up to the weekly winners meme at I am Lotus.

Last week in pics

I am clearly loving not taking a daily picture for project 365 because last week I took versions of only these 4 happenings (and 1 other thing that I can't post for confidentiality reasons - a mindmap of some work strategy).

********************************

When I walked out of my Zumba class at the gym on Wednesday night, I saw this gorgeous sky

Then I commissioned the man down the road to make two of these wicker drawer sets (one is peeking out on the left of the pic) since this desk has no drawers.

This is the "before" I started decluttering the desk and moving some items to the desk drawers.

I will have to take some "after" pics since it's just about done...

And this is a Mondo Beyondo prompt - things that bring me joy

It's been storming in Johannesburg and I love it. At work one day I was walking back to my desk and saw the absolute beauty of the rain clouds. See the reflection of the office lights? That's how dark it got outside.

My week in pictures

Date with Dion at Piza e Vino
my favourite drink, water with lemon

D's pizza
mine - we ordered half and halfs (fabulous idea for indecisive eaters like me)
I had tandoori chicken with peppadews, coriander (mmmm) and yoghurt, and steak strips with caramelised onion (not as caremelised as I'd have liked) and rocket
Melrose Arch - love the angles

Back to work and this, a sign from God to get my body back into shape
a lovely rainy day
with some bright and happy colours
I couldn't resist picking up these two brochures from Flight Centre and drooling over them...let's call it inspiration

this afternoon, getting photos printed and up on the walls

P52 - 1st week of Jan

I'm sorting out my photos and found these from the first week of January.

I was back at work and looks like no-one else was. Look at the empty basement...

and my bulging bag of CDs. You can just spot Air Supply's greatest hits peeking out.

I've since decluttered and organised my car CDs so that they're easier to get to - need to take a picture of my lovely lime-green woven basket

Cap obsession

Things I learned while doing Project 365

I can't tell you how glad I am that project 365 is nearly over. I have never been this happy to finish a project ever.

Seriously.

I started out well and then, well, flaked.

Big time.

I learned that I don't like to be forced to take one pic every day. Some days I want to take 20 pics of grey skies and other days I don't even want to open the camera case.

I want the freedom to do that.

Otherwise, it'll be a pic of my handbag or bedside table as I remember at 10.30 pm that I'm supposed to have taken a pic.

I also learned that if I don't organise photos every single week, they become this huge mountain of photo organising drama that I really don't enjoy.

Weekly it's about a 20-minute or less task which is doable.

Whatever you do, don't sort your pics into categories before you take out your P365 photos - you will never find them again. *ahem*

Learn from my mistakes.

That is why April is not complete and why I can't find all the pics for June, July and some of August.

On my birthday (6 Aug), I decided enough is enough and to start doing this photo organising system properly again.

It worked.

Because of the weekly thing.

So I'm calling this done.

I will finish posting December pics and if I find those missing pics, I'll post them. Otherwise, it'll just have to do.

It's actually kind-of fitting that it's mostly there, but not. 9 months are totally complete and the rest are bitsy-piecy.

A bit how I am. Mostly there but not totally.

I do like the imperfection so maybe I won't even bother looking further for those pics :)

Going forward

I do like having a photo challenge going on.

I was thinking of doing a weekly photo challenge. I think I could do that.

Any ideas? Any good ones around on the internet?

P.S. Is anyone reading??? How did you do with your Project 365?
